Text will be displayed on the text section of the file list window if a text section is shown.
If no text section is shown it will be displayed on a pop up window.
Use Text on the View menu to show/hide the text section or press Alt+Ctrl+Shift+T.
The title of the pop up window will contain the HTML title/Contents meta tag/First part of body if the file is HTML with one of these elements present. Otherwise title will be set to Show Raw Text from + path and filename.
When you press the Esc key you will always be returned to the K-free file list window from which the text on the pop-up screen was displayed.
All Other menus and keys (if available) will apply to the current file list window. This may be different to the file list window from which the text on the pop-up screen was displayed.
E.g. After youNote that there is only ever one pop up window for Show Cell and one pop up window for Show Text.
a. display a file/cell from FileListA
b. select FileListB from the Windows menu
c. select the Show File/Cell window from the Windows menu.
Then any menu or key will apply to the FileListB even though the current window is data from FileListA.
I.e. If you now press 4 to select a filetype and then F5 to refresh the file list.
Then FileListB will be refreshed with the new filetype.
Each of these pop up windows can contain data from any file list window.
If you issue a command to show text or cell data, the previous contents of the pop up window will be replaced.
Press Esc to return to the K-free file list window from which the text on the pop-up screen was displayed.
The pop up window will be positioned so that all of it can be seen and so that it does not hide/cover the cell being displayed (if possible). K-free will try to position the pop up window a. below then b. to the right then c. to the left then d. above the cell. If none of these fit, the pop up window will be placed in the bottom left hand corner of the K-free main window.
If option "Popup Text - Resize ..." is checked on Options/Show Text Popup, then the pop up window will be re-sized every time a new show command is issued.
This option also available from the Edit/Quick Options menu.
If the file list window is maximised and a show command is selected that requires a pop up window then:
If Option "Popup even when maximised ..." is checked on Options/Popups - Show Text ..., the maximised file list window will be changed to fill the screen before the pop up is displayed.
If the option is not checked, the text will be displayed in a maximised window. Esc key can still be used to return to the window where the show command was issued.
The default size for the pop up window can be defined by using "Set Std Size ..." from Options/Popups - Show Text ....
