This is the context specific help for Find Files N Replace for function Date, Time, Size format. It will be show when Shift+F1 is pressed after using menu item Date, Time, Size format on menu "Select".

It can also be shown using menu item Help for Last Function on menu "Help".

'Date, Time, Size format' - Program Help start.


Use this option to enter the format in which Date/ Time and Size data should be displayed in the file list.

Date format will be used for columns Date (Date Modified), Created Date, Last Read Date.
Time format will be used for columns Time (Time Modified), Created Time, Last Read Time.
Size format will be used for Size column as well as other displays of a size in K-free.

You can either use a default format for windows or Define your own format

Define your own format for Date using characters d/dd/ddd/dddd, m/mm/mmm/mmmm and yy/yyyy.
Define your own format for Time using characters h/hh, n/nn, s/ss and am/pm etc.
Define your own format for Size using characters 0, #, . and ,

When any of the formats is changed on this screen, the date / time or size data in the file list will be reformatted.

Date format is made up of the following characters:
d day - no leading zero (1-31).
dd day - with a leading zero (01-31).
ddd day - as text (Mon, Tue, etc.).
dddd day - as text (Monday, Tuesday, etc.).


m month - no leading zero (1-12).
mm month - with a leading zero (01-12).
mmm month - as text (Jan, Feb, etc.).
mmmm month - as text (January, February, etc.).


yy year (01, 02, etc.).
yyyy year (2001, 2002, etc.).


Also extra information an be added to a date format using w/y/ww/q:
w day of the week (1=Sun, 2=Mon, 3=Tue, 4=Wed, 5=Thu, 6=Fri, 7=Sat).
y day of the year as a number (1-366).
ww week of the year (1-53).
q quarter of the year (1-4).



Time format is made up of the following characters:
h hour - no leading zero (0-23).
hh hour - with a leading zero (00-23).


n minute - no leading zero (0-59).
nn minute - with a leading zero (00-59).
m minute - when the m follows h in format specification - no leading zero (0-59).
mm minute - when the m follows h in format specification - with a leading zero (00-59).


s second - no leading zero (0-59).
ss second - with a leading zero (00-59).


AM/PM or am/pm or A/P or a/p show character(s) indicating whether time is before or after 12-noon. The hh part of any format including one of these settings will always be less than 12. I.e. 18:40 will show as 06:40 PM



You can also select the default format for windows
ddddd Display according to the Short Date defined using Windows Control Panel.
dddddd Display according to the Long Date defined using Windows Control Panel.


ttttt Display according to the Time style, separator etc. defined using Windows Control Panel.



For Windows 98, to change Short Date, Long date and Time Style:
- Select Settings - Control Panel from the start Menu
- Open Regional settings

- Click the Date Tab or use Ctrl+Tab key.
- Short Date is shown as Short Date style.
- Long Date is shown as Long Date style.

- Click the Time Tab or use Ctrl+Tab key.
- Change Time Style and/or separator.

NB Windows has several problems in the area of date/time formats. For Example:
- Windows Control Panel uses different names and options are in different places for each version of Windows.
- Some date/time formats will not be processed correctly by Windows.

m/d/yy 4/24/1998
mm/dd/yy 04/24/1998
dd/mm/yy 24/04/1998


dd mmm yyyy 24 Apr 1998
mmmm-yy April-98


hh:mm AM/PM 06:40 PM
h:nn:ss a/p 6:40:33 p
h:nn 18:40
hh:nn:ss 18:40:33


Size format is made up of the following characters:
0  Display a number or a zero.
# Display a number or nothing.
. Show the Decimal point
, Separate the number in parts of 1000

Size format is also used for:
- Number of bytes clipped.
- Total Bytes shown in caption of File List windows.
- Total bytes in all files selected.
- Number of Bytes to search in find files containing text.
- Show file size on pop up message screens.
- Show space amounts on Free space and space distribution screens.
