'Select By File Type' - Program Help start.
Select By Type allows selection of the file types that will be used to make the file list when refresh is pressed.
The file Types in the list are always shown in the format 'name (*.t1|*.t2|f1*.*)'.
The files that are selected will be any file that matches ANY of the *-notation masks.
I.e. a.t1, file2.t1, file7.t2, f1.htm, f1www.jpg will all be selected.
a.t4, file2, file7.t1h, f22.htm, fwww.jpg will all be rejected.
To use a file type definition on the list, select it.
To add a file type definition, press the "New Type" button.
To change a file type definition on the list, select it and press the "Edit Type" button.
To delete a file type definition from the list, select it and press the "Remove Type" button.
To change the order of the file type definition list, press the "Change Sequence" button.
When using the screen to Enter New Type or Edit Type, enter a single file type specification in each of the boxes without the | separator. If more boxes are required, press the "Add Line" button.
Other options used to define the file list to be created are Show Hidden Files, Show System Files, Include SubDirs, Show Directories, and Expand Zips and Catalogs.
Show Hidden ..., Show System ... will determine whether all files / directories with attributes (properties) Hidden / System are shown or not. See Properties on the File menu.
Include SubDirs determines whether files and directories in all subdirectories of each directory listed are also listed when refresh is done.
Show Directories will determine whether directories are shown in the file list.
If this option is not checked no directories will be shown in the filelist.
Expand Zips and Catalogs determines whether each file and directory contained within archive files (ZIP) and K-free Catalogs are listed.
The changes to selected file type and options will be saved when OK or Apply is pressed.
They will only affect the file list when the next refresh is done.
Press OK to save changes and continue. Other selections can then be changed before file list is refreshed.
Press Apply (when available) to save changes and refresh the file list.
Press Cancel to lose any changes made and return.
Keys are also available to change the file type/options:
- Ctrl+4 will show the Select File Types screen
- Ctrl+Alt+S will change File Type selected to All types (*)
- Ctrl+S will change the Include Subdirs and Expand Zips Options. If both of these options were checked, they will both be unchecked. If either was unchecked, they will both be checked.
- S will do the same as Ctrl + S but will also refresh the filelist. It is only available after keys have been initialised using option to define extra shortcut keys. See Options.
