'Define - Special Links (Browser for Help etc)' - Program Help start.
Use this option to change:
- Internal links used to display help from the File List screen or from the Show HTML detail screen.
- Options to open the selected file on the file menu of the Show HTML detail screen.
First select which Link you want to change and then press either "Change Link" or "Use Wizard"
See:
1. Change Link
2. Use Wizard
3. Internal links used to display help
4. Options to open the selected file
1. Change Link will show the current definition of the selected Link. To change the link it is easiest to select an existing Windows or K-free association to be copied.
This screen works in the same way as that used for Define - Action Menu Item except that options do not apply to special links and are therefore not shown. See Define - Action Menu Item
2. The "Use Wizard" button will show the sources used to create the special link when K-free setup was run.
After changing the sources, press Next to continue to the second step of the wizard and display the actions found. You can then confirm/change/accept one of the actions as the new definition for this special link. The screens work the same way as those used in
Define - Action Menu Items (Setup Wizard).
See Define - Action Menu Items (Setup Wizard):
a. Select Sources
b. Confirm Actions to Use
3. Internal links used to display help.
All K-free Help is written in HTML (web pages) which will usually be displayed in your browser. Both the File List screen and the Show HTML detail screen will use the same link to show help.
To Change the Link used for display of help, select item "Browser For Help" from the list of special links.
This Link will not use a caption. Any value entered will be saved and displayed on this Change Link screen but not used elsewhere.
If you have IE installed, you can also enter a value of "LinkedIE" as the definition for Browser For Help. Enter LinkedIE in the box titled "Specify Exe Name for application and any parameters (except filename) [2]".
When you enter LinkedIE, the IE window opened to display help will be linked to the K-free window that created it (as long as it is used to display K-free Help). When you Exit K-free the corresponding IE window will automatically be closed.
The IE window created with option LinkedIE will be also be simpler (easier to read) than your standard IE window.
Menus, toolbars and explorer bars will not be showm. To Show help in a regular IE window (with menus, toolbars and explorer bars), simply change the special link and copy any Windows or K-free association which works to display a (HTML/other) file in IE.
4. Options to open the selected file on the file menu of the Show HTML detail screen.
The Show HTML detail screen is used to display tag examples, scripts, etc. extracted from any of a list of files or to display the source of any HTML file split neatly into trwo seperate columns of tags and text respectively.
It is very useful when looking at examples to load a particular file in a browser or to open it with notepad (the same display that would usually be shown when you select View Source from the context menu of IE).
This option will define up to three Special Links to be available on the File Menu of the Show HTML Detail screen. The three menu options will also be accessible using shortcut keys F12, Ctrl+F12, F6.
See File-Menu [Show HTML Detail] - Open Selected File.
The Caption entered is the caption that will appear on the File menu of the Show HTML Detail screen.
'Define - Special Links (Browser for Help etc)' - Program Help end.
